There was a videogame version of Heroquest as well... it was surprisingly faithful to the board game.
I just used to set up the men on the board and push them around pretending that they were killing each other. Then a rich neighbour of mine tossed his Battle Masters boardgame out because he lost some pieces, so I scavenged it, along with some of his lego man. That gave me another hundred or so pieces to work with.
Epic battles were had.
As for battletoads, I think I only ever made it to the first speeder level. That game is freakin insane.
