Euro Cup 2008

Bah! Playing the kind of negative football they do means that they HAVE to be solid and well organised, but they were just not as good at it as they were four years ago. The entertainment value of watching Greece is almost nil, I hope they don't bounce back! :)

It was a good game. Portugal played well, but they managed to expose a few of their frailties - Ricardo is not a world class keeper, he seems uncomfortable with balls coming into the box through the air. The centre backs were run ragged by the Czech, and occasionally looked out of position. They rely too much on the counter attack, which let the Czech's get their goal. Set pieces of all kinds seemed a problem, too. I think Portugal either have to get better, or one of the really good sides will expose them.

Not so excited about the game on just now. Don't think it will be too exciting. It's important for the outcome of the group though, which makes it interesting.

Yep, England were lacklustre. To be honest the nation, the team and the media needed to miss a tournament, it'll do the world of good, I'm sure.

@derek: I have a hard time seeing Portugal beat solid two way teams like Germany and Croatia. Czech Republic is half the team now without Nedved, Poborsky and Rosicky. Beating this version of the team isn't that impressive.
