Fahrenheit 9/11

Bush wants to switch the US foreign policy to a proactive agenda, creating the US v. the world like you said. It's his goal. He wants to conquer, plain and simple. Maybe not the globe, but certainly several key areas. THE MAN WENT TO FUCKING WAR BECAUSE "SADDAM TRIED TO KILL MY DAD." He said so his fucking self! So the man with his finger on the not-so-proverbial nuclear trigger is chasing a personal vendeta? There is no WHAT THE FUCK!? loud enough to stop this asshole.

BALLS! Some years ago I had assurance that scary political tactics did not infiltrate the US, or at least not the extent that we would be eradicated from the planet. Now I'm scared. I'm nervous for this approaching election, and I'm afraid of what the outcome might be.

It feels good reading some of this thread since it gives you some hope that there's still some sense in the big country in the west.

There's a documentary in a few days on swedish national telvevison about the election and the bible belt. A swedish reporter has traveled in that region and interviewd some people. I've only seen a trailer for it but it seems pretty damn bizarre. A guy (some radio reporter I think) says without any hesitation that the election "is a struggle between good and evil"... with Bush beeing good and Kerry evil. That kind of shortsighted and narrow minded people who can only see the world in black and white give me the creeps almost as much as some militant muslims.

Ugh, come on! Where do they find these people?? Good vs. Evil?? I mean, disagreeing on policy issues is one thing, but how anyone could say Kerry represents evil is pure insanity.

Bush said he would change the tone in Washington, and that may be the only promise he actually made good on...only problem it's been for the worse, as his administration has been accurately described as viewing politics in a warlike manner (I think they put more effort into crushing opponents than locating terrorists), which creates fundamentalist beliefs like the one above.
