Fans over 35?

I turned 44 a week or so ago. I saw quite a few people of a similar age at the Empire on Thursday night ... and we weren't just there for the first set either

38 here. Metalhead since I heard Deep Purple made in Japan when I was 9, Maiden, Sabbath, UFO, Scorpions, etc fan in my teens. Opeth fan since I heard MAYH, turned me on to the whole extreme/black metal scene (Emperor, Immortal, Vader, and melodic Swedish stuff like DT and In Flames, along with MANY other bands I had never heard of)

In brief, metal rules, Opeth slays (but Damnation blows)

By the way, my 10 and 5 year olds like Opeth and Emperor. They really like Nightwish and Within Temptation (and In Flames also).

Yeah, I am what you would consider "mature". And I listen to Opeth relentlessly.

I am 39 and listened to my first Opeth album when I was 36 I think. My first metal album purchased was probably Killers by Iron Maiden back in the early 80's.

Sort of the same here. I am 36 and my first concert was Kiss with Iron Maiden as support act 1980 in Cologne, Germany. The first album that really blew me away was Judas Priest's British Steel.
And yes: I love Opeth.
