I'm running Pro Tools 7.4 on a new HP Laptop with Vista 32-bit Ultimate. Every time I try to load a wrapped VST Plugin on a track, I immediately get a "Fatal Error, Pro Tools must close" message, then I need to reboot. I cannot load Voxengo Boogex or 8505 or any of my VST Plugins that used to work on my old machine....of course I had XP on that computer.

If I could avoid downgrading to XP, that would be excellent, as most of the hardware on this computer doesn't have drivers for XP

Thanks for the help guys!!

Fatal error = Pro Tools 7.4 on an HP laptop with Vista + VST plugs

try trashing preferences and databases with the Tech Support Utility
Got the CS9 update for 7.4?
Check that you have quicktime installed
Check that you have the latest PACE drivers installed.

Yea, well, you can't beat getting a new laptop at half the price new...this thing is loaded, and I didn't have a choice with Vista. Also don't have a lot of money, so free VST's are the way to go.

Don't know what I did, but it's working smooth as a baby's ass now.
