So, what's your favourite Death Metal album?

I'm voting for Edge of Sanity's "Crimson", with Dark Tranquillity's "Haven" coming second.

For now, my fav death metal album is Morbid Angel's Blessed Are The Sick. The best dm vocals I have ever heard and some fucking killer drumming.

Aw, come on. Neither Crimson or Haven are what people usually refer to as death metal. They are good albums but just not "real" death metal. Death metal is stuff like Morbid Angel and Deicide!

I agree about Haven! of course it's not death metal..definitely not...as for Crimson..well it's actually DM,at least still close to it....

This is not a "real" death metal thread, if you like it, and it can be loosely classified as death metal, it goes. Dark Tranquillity are usually referred to as "Swedish melodic death metal" and I consider them that. They're as different from "real" death as Dimmu is from "true" black, but still classified as such.
If you still don't agree with me, then what label would you put DT under? Or In Flames for that matter?

I utterly worship that album. Easily makes my top-5-of-all-time list (speaking on personal terms, not in metal history terms )

It's all death metal to me...I tend to like the more melodic stuff, and I stay away from grind. I guess the closest thing to "real" death metal bands that I listen to occasionally are Death, Vader, Pestilence, Entombed, Carnage, and Dismember.
