Favourite melodic death metal?

At the Gates, Hatesphere, Nightrage, Darkane, Old Mans Child(?), In Falmes, Amon Amarth. This sucks because I keep listing bands like Gates of Istar, and Old Mans Child who I don't think belong here. I would consider them Melodic Black Metal, which I perfer.

Dark Tranquility, Arsis, edge of sanity(if it counts as melodic death), OLD In Flames(whoracle and before) At the Gates, Swano's Moontower(I think it fits this genre), and hypocrisy as well.

Pre-R2R In Flames
Dark Tranquillity
Pre-Anthemns Arch Enemy
Carcass
Opeth
At The Gates
Older Amorphis
Ceremonial Oath
etc...

Most of them have been covered already by this thread, I'll just content myself with saying I really love DT - and its good to see someone else recognises the genius of Embraced.
Damn straight. Embraced are a hidden gem.

Most of this is actual "melodic death metal", not Gothenburg stereotypical "melo-death". Some is, but meh.
