At first, I really enjoyed Pulled Under, but now I must have to say the brilliant, Mogwai-saturated Violence. The dynamic, development, climax and denouement of that simple melody is so moving and organic. Post-Rock minimalism at its best. And the Childhood Dream theme thrown back in at the end concludes it perfectly, as if the whole album came full circle.

I think the only obvious influence in anathema is Jeff Buckley for Vinnie's voice in certain songs...

enough of earing that radiohead influenced all the modern rock

Dont tell me that the begining of Balance doesnt sound like Radiohead. Im sure the band will admit that too, so theres no need to be Jimmy Defensive Fanboys. Just be honest about it all like.

so maybe you're right ! but for the previous albums, I don't think there was an obvious influence of radiohead (except in "pressure" ?)

actually my comment didn't concern anathema particularly... but it was not very clear
that's something which often returns and that irritates me.

the thing is danny has been telling everywhere how radiohead are the best band in the world and how he wishes theyd take them on tour, so i reckon he sort of like that band like, which isnt true about all the rock bands out there.
