Mine would have to be Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.

Its been my obession lately. I'm totally intruiged by it. It is just beautiful beyond description. I've got the sheet music and I'm slowly learning it. I've got about 4 pages memorized, out of the 10. But as they go they are the most easy, and sometimes I don't play the whole octaves because I can't move my hands fast enough. I play it with my digital piano set to pipe organ, and it sounds awsome. In 10 years when I have the whole thing learned it will sound magnificent.

What are your favorite classical pieces?:D

i really, REALLY like Pachebel canon (sp?) ... but i dont know if that counts as "classical" or not (meaning, i always use the term "classical" in a very generic way, but wouldnt really be able to tell if its barroque or neoclassical etc stuff like that)

basically i like a lot of classical music but i dont often know the names

I'm not sure if it's classical Baroque or what specific periode it actually is, but Carl Orff's Camina Burana moves me. Also Wagner's Die Walkure. Also dig Toccata and Fugue. There is more, however I am not very well versed.

Beethoven's moonlight sonata, Bach's suite number 3, Pachebel's canon, Mozart's requiem, Vivaldi's summer

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, Schubert's Swansong Serenade, Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Pachelbel's Canon, Arvo Part's Spiegel Im Spiegel, Bach's Toccata and Fugue, Chopin's nocturnes, etc...

As you can see, I just can't decide :p There are many many more I'm leaving out right now. Sometimes I wish classical music weren't so intimidating. There are plenty of names I don't remember or don't know, and it's not like they're so easy to keep track of.

i must agree with all the ones who picked up beethoven's moonlight sonata. and his symphony #9.
then almost everything by j.s.bach (especially his inventio's). i don't mind strauss, either.

what do you mean with "memorized"? isn't it easier to read the sheets whilst playing?

damn, i just saw Yngwie Malmsteen and his intro while they were setting up was Vivaldi - The Four seasons. I only like Summer and Winter though, lots of minor key stuff, Bach's harpsicord concerto, double violin concertos toccata and fugue. mozarts 25th beethovens 5th and 9th. paganini's caprices (master of violin). And if anyone like Yngwie Malmsteen, check out his lbum called "Yngwie Malmsteen - Concerto Suite For Electric Guitar And Orchestra In E Flat Minor " or something like that.
Fucking amazing

I like many.. can't decide.
I like Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Strauss, Vivaldi, Debussy, Brahms, Schumann, etc etc..
A piece I really like is Claire de Lune by Debussy, the Blue Danube waltz, the Four Seasons - Winter, Chopin - Étude in E major Op. 10 (Tristesse), etc etc..
I really enjoy classical music at any time :)

Not if it's difficult.

For Classical, I mainly like composers from the Romantic period. Can't be arsed to list names right now. On another note, I do not like Carmina Burana.

well, i do play the piano. i know you have to study a piece, especially when it's difficult, but nonetheless i keep an eye on the sheets.
