5. Avantasia - The Metal Opera As the title of the album infers, this is the best metal opera and is what really got me interested in symphonic metal.
4. Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys I consider the first two to be one album. Not a bad song on either disc and is where the book of power metal was written. Without this, who knows if our genre would've been as good as it is today.
3. Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime - Best METAL concept album period. Very diverse range of songs with an interesting story to come along with it. Plus of course, great performances all around.
2. Dream Theater - Metropolis Part 2: Scenes of a Memory - The best album from one of my top 5 bands of all time. This truly is Dream Theater's finest hour that truly takes you on an unbelievable musical journey. I'm always amazed that people place other DT discs before this one.
1. Pink Floyd - The Wall - Nothing comes close in my book to this concept album. Hell, nothing comes close to this album period as it is my favorite disc of all time. It's superbly written songs, killer atmosphere, a cool concept and is just flawless in every conceivable way.
