Favorite Female Lead Vocalist for a Metal Band?

Gigi Hangach (Phantom Blue) was one I forgot that I appreciated quite a bit. I like them rough, but Federica (White Skull) might be a little too rough (the female equivalent of Chris Boltendhal?), even though I still enjoy her.

Wow, I love this thread! Lots of new stuff for me to check out. Love the female vox. The current ones have all been mentioned. Love Floor, Nina, Sabrina, huge Elize fan, etc.

No love for Maria Brink?

or Lizzy Halestorm?

Too mainstream maybe?

The number one favorite female vocalist in a hard rock band is easily:

She STILL has the pipes!

Honorable mention:

How about Magali Luyten?

Then there is Anneke van Giersbergen, who's a bit unusual. The work she's been doing with Devin Townsend has been awesome.

More old school: Ann Wilson

(Edit, someone beat me to it. I'll post this because it's awesome anyways...)

Edit: Forgot one: Anna Murphy of Eluveitie

Good call on Maria Brink. I'm not a huge fan of theirs, but I have a lot of respect for her capabilities. Very powerful vocals.

I just assumed we weren't allowed to include Ann Wilson in this thread, or it would have ended before it began. And really, if you perform a Zeppelin song and bring tears and smiles to the faces of Zeppelin, it's kinda thread over.

Agnete M. Kirkevaag

Dominique Lenore Persi

Dawn Crosby (R.I.P.)

ok come on now; Pat Benetar, Heart, Sandy Saraya, Lana Lane, Stolen Babies... seems like a mile long stretch as a "metal singer". Why not just suggest Marcie Free? HAHA

Some straight up early 90's Aus rock by the Baby Animals. The singer Suze DeMarchi has huge pipes and was married to one Nuno Bettencourt for years.

Not sure what you mean by unusual.

Her work with Devin is great but is not even close to showcasing her voice and ability. Her time with the Gathering are right up there as my favourite vocals be it male or female.

My wife and I just started a band together and we are doing Devin Townsend stuff, Evanescence, We are the Fallen, Halestorm, Pat Benatar, Heart, Lacuna Coil, etc for covers while working on originals. She and our keyboardist/pianist are doing the above Anneke song which is an old Gathering song she did with her and piano, absolutely beautiful. Anneke has become one of my favs recently. Also, thank you to who posted Clanestine, never heard them before and absolutely love it.

The OP wrote, "Can be any genre of rock/metal."

My bad then, I should not have read the subject; "Favorite Female Lead Vocalist for a Metal Band?" Favorite rock or metal, I guess that would change everything.
Well if Stolen Babies has a good rock/metal vocalist or is now considered by some a rock or metal band
