I saw Maiden with Blaze live once (I believe it was back in 98 or 99), and he SU-SU-SU-SU-SUUUUUCKED! It was the only time I didn't enjoy a Maiden show. It was actually painful to watch, and hear... he had horrid stage presence/audience interaction, and couldn't sing the classic stuff... they even left "Run To The Hills" out of the set.
I've seen Maiden 5 times since Bruce and Adrian came back, and they are as awesome live these days as they ever were in the 80s!
If my memory serves, it's from "The Call of Cthulhu". One of the best collections I've seen is The Annotated HP Lovecraft edited by ST Joshi. It has most of Lovecraft's best stuff and a ton of footnotes to help explain some of HPL's more obscure musings. Once you're done with that, there's More Annotated HP Lovecraft available as a follow up. Hope that helps!Unfaithfully Metalhead said:on the album cover.. on Eddie's tombstone.. there is a few lines from a H.P. Who called me?Clammy said:but a lot of old-school Anthrax fans either don't like John at all, or think that Anthrax changed for the worse with his joining

The '80s albums post dianno arn't listenable, is it just me or can Bruce Dickinson not sing to save his life?
Clammy said:Live After Death kicks ASS! It's just that Number Of the Beast is my favourite Maiden record. Honestly, with the exception of the Blaze albums, I really dig ALL of Iron Maiden's albums (sorry JD! ). The funny thing is that the Blaze-era songs I've seen them perform live with Bruce singing sound really good! I just can't get past Blaze's voice on the CDs... I've tried... I REALLY have!
Cheers!

Edit: Crap--"The Call of Cthulhu" is in the second volume. But the first volume has "The Rats in the Walls" which is a great story.
