BANANAMAN! dude no one ever remembers bananaman when i mention it. i loved pretty much all the shows on the poll and the old ones mentioned elsewhere. it was like the only channel i watched until we got comedy central when i was in like 7th grade or something. and MTV i guess.

My girlfriend's little brother is going to be on "Figure it Out" in January next year. He's a 14 year old aryan-looking kid from a conservative family in New Jersey, and his hobby is Tuvan throat singing. At first we all just thought it was a fleeting interest, but he became excellent with his voice... he is pulling off really sophisticated tones and vocal patterns. Even a bunch of straight-up Mongolian/Tuvan guys are starting to pay attention to him. He has also hand-crafted a bunch of traditional string instruments that sound excellent... it's serious business. Now THAT is folk as fuck.

Anyway the point is that he will be doing some throat singing on the show.
