Alright so for example theres a clear difference from the distortion
used on deliverance and ghostreveries/watershed.

Which album has your favourite distortion/guitar sound?

I suppose I prefer the older albums. The Ghost Reveries/Watershed era is somewhat more diversified so it's really hard to pinpoint just one tone that you use to compare with one tone on another album.

The guitar solo from "Beneath the Mire."

Haha well i mean the distortion itself, no other elements such as delay or reverb, the actual distortion itself.

I like the distortion tones from Ghost Reveries & Watershed. The lead tones from GR is nice. Very Dual Rectifier soundings

I think the BWP tone is the best .. But i hear people complaining about it quite a bit.

..Can't remember why, overly compressed or whatever.. Overly something.

Gotta say BWP. Just listen to Lepper Affinity, Bleak, and Funeral Portriat...hell, just listen to all of 'em. But my choices between GR and Water? Watershed. I can def hear some classic death metal in it.
