Female Metal Festival - Sat, June 16, 2007 - Minnesota

So I'm just curious ... how festival-like will this festival be? Obviously there are enough bands on the bill for it to constitute as a one-day festival (at least IMO), but will there be other festival-type elements such as a merch area? (I'm guessing it will probably be just the bands selling their shwag, but if there were other vendors I wouldn't complain.)
Also, it is already determined how long each band's set will be?
Just wondering ... :D

Right now, I have Melissa Ferlaak, vocalist of Visions of Atlantis and formerly of Aesma Daeva, set to emcee. We will be giving away some metal artefacts from the stage, no samplers either!

Station 4 is not the biggest club in the world, but I do have a few vendors that will be setting up shop. I also have a few surprises in the works, but I don't want to say anything until I actually get things confirmed.

This is going to be a smashing day of metal, I guarantee it.

So is this show already done booking bands?

Check out Dendura

Hmmmmmmm I may just go to this show as it keeps getting better and better, give me a day or two to see what the airfare is gonna be and i may have a YES answer by Monday.

I have been very hard at work on this and I am pleased to announce the very first ever FLIGHT OF THE VALKYRIES metal festival - dedicated to metal bands with female lead vocalists.

And the crazy thing is that I'll actually be in that general area that day! However, that is the day of the family reunion at my aunt and uncle's farm in Hayward, WI, alas, no way I'll be able to go to that. Otherwise, it would've been sweet to make a bit of a side trip and actually catch this.

The kick-ass thing is that I'll at least still be seeing Doro at Jaxx on the 10th, though (still need to order that damn ticket from Division - I guess I better get on it, wonder if any of the Division guys will be at the Lacuna Coil show coming up in a couple weeks.)

I hate female fronted bands. Nothing sexist but I dont know they don't do it for me. I just feel like the female voice cant carry a band. I know I am in a minority and someone might give me shit for it but just never did it for me.
