It's interesting do you plan to use more female vocals in future releases,i think the strongest songs in..TO WELCOME THE FATE
arethese with female parts.....do you think so?:)

Well, it's no secret that we haven't had a full time female vocalist since C.J's departure from the band back in 1999. With each new album it gets harder and harder to find someone that can do the parts and do them the way we want them. While I am not ruling out having more female vocals on future releases, I know that collectively we have been wanting to phase that out of our music gradually as we go.
Speaking for myself, I have really lost alot of interest in the female doom vocal thing. Novembers Doom were one of the forerunners of that style, dating way back to 1991 or so. But now, it seems like every other band has jumped on that wagon, and I think its a bit overdone. Yes there are a bunch of bands who do it very very well, I agree. But especially since C.J. departed us, I think the interest in featuring it more prominently in our songs has dwindled alot.
Do I think the strongest songs are the ones with female vocals on 'TWTF'? Honestly? No. But, it really doesn't matter what I think, because if you really like those songs and feel them to be the better ones, then thats fine too. On this album, we really weren't given enough time to prepare the female vocal sections properly, and when I listen to those songs now, alot of parts don't sound "correct" to me, if you can understand what I mean. I think if we were to find someone with an outstanding voice that we could really work with to make things sound right, I might be more open to including those vocals again.
I personally tend to come from the old school of doom like Trouble, Candlemass, St Vitus, Winter, Pentagram, and so on. I'm much more interested in getting Paul to utilise that nice clean singing voice of his! *hehehe* Right, Paul?
For the record, my favorite songs on 'TWTF' are- Not The Strong, Broken, Spirit Seed, and Dark Fields For Brilliance.

I guess I should note, that while a couple of my favorite songs feature female vocal sections, I don't particularly think those sections are what makes me enjoy those songs the most...

If anyone out there knows of an available outstanding female vocalist (or if you are one!) don't hesitate to contact us...you never know.

I would like to see what ND would sound like with a female vocalist now. It would also be interesting to hear a different style of female vocals. I like the variation in ND music, and this would be good too :)

A different female vocalist for each song it's used on perhaps, using different styles?
