Whelp I had the urge to customize the paint job on my Ibanez MMM1 after seeing another member of this board do the same thing (thanks for the idea ApolloSpeed). I know nothing about painting/staining/finishing wood, yet I think it came out all right. The idiot at Home Depot mixed me up a custom color stain that was supposed to be a light grey but he made it come out a blue color.... But I think it came out pretty good...... Lemme know what you think.

Meh.... I'm telling you, it looks better in person.... Just wish I would have used a semi gloss overcoat instead of gloss.... way too shiny for my taste....

Completely unrelated, but having all those pots that close would bug the Hell out of me - and did you change the switch? Looks like it should have a 5-way in it.

As for the colour - my guitar is that horrible glittery red that ESP do, so I don't think I can comment really :p

Well I guess the verdict is that it's nasty. At least I can say it's one of a kind, and I can always sand it and do it again a different color or go back to natural.... I was just getting bored of having it look the same as everybody else that owns one....

I hate how close the pots are... But I had no choice, thats all the room I had to work with in the cavity. It had a crappy long throw 3 way switch in there, so I yanked it and put a better one in there, I never got around to filling in the slot for it...

Yeah I own a ESP with the red glitter color, looked good in photos but is very ugly in person. Wish I would have gone with the see thru black.....

Home Depot has never mixed a right color for me on anything EVER.

As for the guitar, well, hopefully that's a really shitty pic, cuz it looks like brushed on high gloss latex paint...

If it were more gray, like primer grey in all it's flat graininess, it'd be awesome.

Well, if you like the color, that's fine but it really need to be polished with proper
tools and material and maybe experienced people.

Umm, I wouldn't have done that myself. But then, I've done some pretty daft things to nice guitars in the past:

i personally prefer long throw switches. i go back and forth between pick ups a lot and i do it very quickly, often 3 or 4 times in the course of one solo. long throw is the way to go for this IMO. anyway, as long as you like the way the guitar plays, nothing else is important.
