It was the early 80s for me as well. I believe the first band was Depeche Mode, but I became a fan of Duran Duran shortly thereafter.

probably Soundgarden! from the grunge era, I also liked Stone Temple Pilots (still do).
after that Pantera, Tool (Aenima),...., Opeth!
but Opeth was definitely the band I got the most crazy about...that was short before BWP came out. I was kind of obsessed with them! good times!

Nightwish. I come across a Nightwish thread on a forum I used to be a member of. Everyone said they were awesome and were comparing them to bands I already liked, so I decided to check them out. After that I bought all their albums, put up a Ghost Love Score flag/poster in my room, etc. I'm not a huge fan of them anymore, but thet're still cool and I still listen to 'em a bit. Just nt as much as back then.

The first band I liked was Korn, which I occasionally listen to; however, I don't like any of the albums released after Issues. I was a huge fan, but I never put posters of them in my room or bought any merch aside from the albums and some DVDs.
