First!

"i've ordered the tshirt too. let's hope german medium sizes are not too big for me!!! "

VINTERSORG. T-SHIRT.

OK! Just placed an order with Napalm! Jordpuls (of course), a Tyr shirt I've been eying for a while, and two of the Vintersorg shirts in Medium. I've been wanting a Vintersorg shirt for eons now, and it's actually work safe for my current job (which is rare for a metal t-shirt!) So, I splurged!

I am SO glad I read this thread!

(Oh - and now I also ordered a couple of Algebra books from Amazon. Vintersorg + math. Yup. I'm a geek!)

well, of course american mediums are the bigger mediums i've ever experienced! :p
my boyfriend's father brought me a NY hoody and fits like a XL, so you can understand that i cannot wear it! :bah:
so be sure german M will not be bigger than american M, at least littler!
but i'm quite sure they are bigger than italian tshirts, everytime i go to a concert and buy some tshirt from bands of northern europe they are always oversized

but the smaller size they have at napalm is a M so i must take what they offer.
i'm gonna wear vintersorg's tshirt also if i'm going to stumble in it!

Got it like 10 minutes ago! Listened to 1 and a half song, great sounding so far! <3

Yay!

Actually German M is smaller than a US M. Remember, people in the US are larger hahaha.
Nice, which books? I guess you'd like my dad's library, he's a maths full professor and has HUNDREDS of algebra books. He usually teaches algebra, calculus or maths computing (or whatever you call that subject).

OMG! Mine was also sent today. Totally awesome in the most utmost sense of the word! V-sorg are rad and trendy!

 hahahahaha "rad and trendy" hahahaha!

I'm sure you'll get it first, for me it's 1 week for the package to get to the US, and another to have it in my hands. Will…wait…all…the…time…and…not…download…it…:Smug:.

Yes. It was there, waiting for me on my doormat as I got home today. After listening to it twice, I'm actually kind of dissapointed...

There are some damn good songs there, no doubt about it (I'm worshipping "Klippor och Skär"). Some parts instantly seemed quite tedious, but I'm sure the entire record is a grower.

One thing that bugs me though, is Napalm's advertising for the record as a "folkmetal masterpiece". I actually hear very little folkmetal in "Jordpuls" and the many prog-elements - which I like in healthy doses - are still very much there, much to my dismay. I think it's mainly in the vocal-melodies that I felt was too much prog-sounding in some parts. But some parts are, as I said earlier - very good.

But hell, this is not a review at all. These are my thoughts after only 2 listens. I'm free tomorrow so I'll be spending the entire day with "Jordpuls"! :Smokin:

I decided to search for a leak after I finally ordered my copy, and I certainly found one.

After two listens, I came to the conclusion that this album is too damn short! I would say that half of the album is brilliant, while the rest is...well a little weak. The production is also unbalanced, as the drum volume is a bit distracting at times.

One thing I need to mention above all is the guitar work, it's fucking awesome. Mattias cranks out some incredible leads/riffs on this album, and it sounds like Andreas does the lead in the final track(which is really original and cool!) Mattias just has a incredible talent for well written guitar leads, and I bow to him for that. The vocals are also quite amazing on a few of the tracks, even kind of reminds me of some Queen material. I was singing fake swedish all the way to work this morning(no stereo in my car, so I make my own sounds!)

So, I give Jordpuls a 7/10 so far. Can't wait to get my hands on the physical copy.

It took my a few listens to appreciate Solens rötter. I found it chaotic at first but now I think it's near to awesomeness. Napalm should take it easy on the folk metal masterpeace.. but you know.. marketing and advertising...

i've notice that some t-shirts from northern europe are also longer than ours  yes we are dwarves :tickled:
i mean, if you take two M the italian one is shorter while the other one is longer but the width is probably the same. that means that i always have problems to find my right size.
the strange thing is also that if you take bigger sizes the width remains about the same. i've bought an heidevolk t-shirt at the concert, i asked an M took the shirt and put it into my bag.
when i went home i looked at it and discovered is was a L
i tried it and it isn't so large, but really really long, i mean, half of my thigh :bah: i have to wear it as a dress!!!!!

Either way, it'll fit :) I hope!

Here's the books I ordered: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Algebra-Survival-Guide-Conversational-Thoroughly/dp/0965911381/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1300772125&sr=8-3"]Algebra Survival Guide: a Conversational Guide for the Thoroughly Befuddled[/ame]

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Algebra-Survival-Guide-Workbook-Understanding/dp/0965911373/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300772125&sr=8-1"]Algebra Survival Guide Workbook: Thousands of Problems to Sharpen Skills and Enhance Understanding[/ame]

The look like they'll be good for self study, since I don't have the time to take a structured class right now.

After a few listenings of "Jordpuls", I have to say that I love this album. At least, I like it more than "Solens Rotter".

The first listen, was surprising and a little bit strange, because the songs posted on MySpace are the most similar to older stuff, but there are other songs with different musical approach. At first, it was a little bit disappointed because I was waiting more songs like "Världsalltets Fanfar" and "Mork Nebulosa", but after listen the whole album you realize it has incredible moments.

I'd like to highlight two songs in addition to the above.

- "Klippor Och Skär": At first, I have had the same feelings when I heard "Curtains". Strange song, but now I love it.

- "Skogen Sover": This song reminds me the old era, but in a new way.

On the other hand, I don't like too much the drum sound. As ErikSL said, it's a bit distracting at times.

When it comes to the drums we've heard that soem feel like severla of you here...that they are too loud...we think they're just perfect. For us a lot of the energy come out of the drums..when you have guitars on tops of the other things it sound just so weak...and about the actual drum sound it's intentionally not a "modern" drum sound in a way. I mean we could have done so much more metal kind of drums..I have all the necessary tools...but a tom should actually sound like a tom in my world..not what you think sound like a tom as you've heard so many times on other records how a "tom" sound like:)

Hehehe, ok! It's probably that in the next future, I will like this drum sound too. It is not the first time that happens to me with your albums. At first listenings, some elements are difficult to understand them, but step by step, I will be catching the whole spirit of the album. :)

I don't know if you knows what I mean... :)

Preach it!

I try to use as 'real' of sounds as I can get when I'm programming drums. I'd rather just have a drummer, though. :p

For me it has alot to do with being in control of the exact hits...I mean I want to able to control if the drum fill half through changes to triplets and then back in the same specific fill, according to fit it to the guitars and such matters.

So it feels not comfortable to let the drums be played by a drummer of flesh and blood? At one hand man could say that you can explain exactly to the drummer how you want him/her to play the drums. But maybe that's not realistic? So on the other hand the choice is taken cause of autonomic reasons?

Anyway, at first I thought the drums where real because of the playfulness.
In combination with the catchy song writing it's really a pleasure to listen to the album. Palisader is one of my favorites at the moment! :)
