Some people have been asking about this, I think I'll just post in this thread every time I update it? I'm done up to about 11 minutes I think, and I've been trying to correct the guitar in the tab at the same time as I do the bass. If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve riffs before 11 minutes, fire away! AND, I didn't correct the fast solo in the middle, so someone should tell me if it's accurate or not.

The solo seems generally ok, apart from mostly having the wrong fingerings. A few parts seem to have off timing. Also, are you sure about Riff G? I can't listen to the actual song now, but from memory that riff sounds a bit wrong. With riff P, the heavy chug parts on the F# note I think are actually chorded.

i suggest looking at the tab i made of it a while back, and keep note of finger positioning.. especially during the solos.

Look at the main solo also. The way you have it is similar to how pete plays it live, but the album version is a little different.

Umm, I'll check out riff G tomorrow. As for riff P - I DID have it transcribed with muted power chords for those F#s...it just made the MIDI sound really wrong so I changed it so I wouldn't have people biting my head off for the midi sounding wrong? Haha, probably a dumb move to appease the masses, so I'll change it back to how it's actually played.

As for SUISLIDE:

I think I'd probably agree with most of your position changes. HOWEVER - at that section that starts at 9:17, in the second measure (it's m 217 and 221 in my score), those high notes definitely sound like taps...I slowed the part down, I think that measure at least is right in having the tapping (and I'm sure it's right with NOTES, the positions may be off). As for some of the other position changes, like the VERY BEGINNING being played way up the neck on your tab, where did you get that position? It seems really impractical...if it's what they do in the video (which I have but haven't really watched) then I'll think about changing it, but if I have the right notes in an easier way to play it I might just leave it with the "inaccurate" position. I'll check out the fast solo sometime too, I just haven't really gone over that yet.

Yea its how Mike plays the intro. I have 4 different clips of that song, but mysteriously none of the cameras show all of peters solos, only the second part of the main solo. In which he does not use the taps btw. Maybe its a live edit, but I really dont think so.

In riff R, the lead part needs some position changing, just look at my tab. Its definately how they play it. The last solo is right.. even the positions except the last run is played higher on the neck(277).

Here we go, I think now it's done besides the main solos. I changed some positions on them to correspond to the text tab and I did the divebomb thing, but other than that I haven't gone over it cause it's too hard to tab with a bass. I'll finish it up when I finally go home for the summer and have access to a guitar again.

HMMM, maybe that's how Opeth plays it, but that positioning is so incredibly terrible and impractical that I don't think it's worth changing...haha. I'll look at the video.

i suggest looking at the tab i made of it a while back, and keep note of finger positioning.. especially during the solos.

Look at the main solo also. The way you have it is similar to how pete plays it live, but the album version is a little different.

Could you possibly repost the solo? I AM WORKING ON THE DARN THING FINALLY and want to finish it up!

Man, you can't tab rhythm with just numbers, dooderz! That's why on top of all my tabs I write *listen to CD for rhythm help* cause I'm not that dedicated to typing out rhythm slashes all evenly and stuff.

It's not like anything is complicated on here rhythm wise anyway except for (perhaps) the solos, which I didn't tab. So I think you are being anal, which is not a surprise since you are a guitarist! ; )

ill take a step back.. the last post i replied "no, not in time" because i meant bar 240 in wanks powertab, not the written tab. Yea that would be tough to guess cause i was pissed and in a hurry at the time (sorry again).

Oh, and yea i would think its pretty possible to tab rythym using just numbers, cause how do you think actual musicians(no offense to anyone) read music? they dont just listen to it and pick it up. Oh, and i dont want to argue this cause its pointless, so dont reply just cause of what i said in this paragraph please.
