France does'nt have any good metal bands

im not going to flame you, i just dont think you really know what youre talking about. europe is just as soiled with a bunch of children of bodom and darkthrone rehash as america is full of hardcore bands now. america has some good bands to offer, you just have to dig.

along with a lot of the classic thrash and death bands which are still alive and kicking. anyway, obviously its less metal savvy as europe...but its not off the map by any means...ironically, go check out the metal in france thread for a better argument on where metal is gone.

You have to remember that many brutal death metal bands come from the US. It's not nearly as much metalcore as people believe.

There's also significant bands like Isis and Mastodon here. I haven't heard that styles like that in Europe, except for Cult of Luna, which is pretty unoriginal from what I've heard.

Ruins are an awesome, completely crazy Japanese band that everyone should check out.

disembowelment, mournful congregation and psycroptic are from australia...and theyre among the greatest in their genre. australia has had quite a few decent metal bands over the years.
