My Mothers friend was told by a doctor she had an condition that would make her crippled eventually. She was given loads of strong medications for years.

A couple of days ago the hospital called her and told her that they were forced to invesigate her personal health records. She asked why and they told her that her doctor never came back from hes vacation. They also told her that she had been misdiagnosed for over two years and been taking unnecessecary heavy drugs.

My Mother also went to this doctor for a year or so. She has been treated for different things to. But not at that velocity. We dont know yet if my mother has been misdiagnosed to.

We dont know for sure how this could happen. Its unreal for me. but maybe not for the american sneapsters.

Thoughts besides a big fucking lawsuit?

Excuse my terrible english.

Sorry to hear that, hope your mother's friend is better.

But I don't understand the reason why he would do such thing. Is he earning from selling drugs or just from consultations?

I guess it's consultations profit but I'm curious to know the reason behind this.

This sucks. Can't think anything else than a lawsuit man.

Just to put some info on the table, and i don't say that's the case here...
doctors do have ''benefits'' from the medicine companies, for pushing their products in the market

Huge malpractice lawsuit--provided the "doc" had malpractice insurance. If not she is pretty much screwed--odds are the doc has already lost his assets or he'll file for bankruptcy--if its in the US. Not sure how it is in the rest of the world

Yes, but in Spain they get gifts and presents (like 3 nights in a hotel) but not money AFAIK.

If there's a connection between the dr and the med companies, then we're talking about some serious stuff here.
