Full stems of a progressive metal song

i like this song Ronixis! and i wish i could mix it but i got this f**king earache.. i'll probably try it when i'll get better :)

i enjoyed your drums in your mix MetalMiller, could you tell more about the kit and process you used in SSD?

I´m just using slate for OH and toms. Kick is just the andy sneap kick, snare are three different samples (Born snare, Slate 12, Alesis d4). Changed the guitar sound and fixed the vox.

Vocals are still out of sync. Other than that, sounds good.

Downloaded the songs on your website a few days ago. Really amazing songs! I just can't get enough of them. Your voice is just perfect for the songs. Ihan saatanan mahtavaa meininkiä!

Thanks!

Gave this a shot, I think there's an issue with the drums though.

Drums are a mix of random samples. Bass is split with one channel doing all the rattly distorted stuff and the other channel doing the low end clean beef. The guitars are Pod Farm/impulses. Used the original lead tone.

I noticed the gain on the di's and stems is really low. Just wondering, on the Mackie Onyx Satellite, what did you have the gain knob set to?

Anyways, this is some really great work. :D The stem tracks are really interesting to listen to.

I just play as loud as I can and set the gain where it won't clip, I think it's the normal measure. Although sometimes I just set the gain by ear and try to find the sweet spot where it sounds best.

intro missing toms? halp

^ I don't know, I just pulled them up to the normal toms and for some reason there were only for *shrug*

Okay so I couldn't let my crap clip up there stay in this thread, so I went back and re-did it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3782733/coreysRemix2.mp3

I now completely understand the absolute NECESSITY of having DI tracks for ALL of the guitars. Thank you, TS, your stem tracks have given me a valuable experience.

And now everyone's gonna hate me, but here's my brickwalled version: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3782733/coreysRemix_brickwall.mp3

I dont have 5 toms :(
wth is the 91?

The toms are probably fucked up because I used different toms for the intro. I'm sure it'll work out if you'll just slide notes on their right position.

Don't worry, I mastered the original at something like -8 RMS :D ...no complaints about that yet, so there's probably not that much of audible clipping.
