Gamers Thread

KOTOR 1 was a great, great game. I've just been playing NHL 2k7 recently. Haven't had much time for gaming.

Forgive me if this is a repeat (haven't read over the thread), but is anyone else psyched as fuck about Starcraft 2? Starcraft is one of my favorite games ever, and definitely the one I've wasted more time on than any other game. I still play it somewhat regularly to this day, even though it's 9 fucking years old. The sequel is going to be glorious.

By the way, if any of y'all play on battle.net, PM me.

Dang, that sucks. I was going to get the Battlefield 2 collector's edition (the one that includes all the expansions), but the place I was at didn't have it.

Starcraft was definitely a damn good game (although the people online pissed me right the fuck off). Hopefully they deliver with Starcraft 2 - I mean graphically it's fucking gorgeous, but what I'm worried about is the story...the game has large shoes to fill.

Im sure Blizz will be able to make the story in a quality manner. I mean, from WC2 which was an okay storyline, especially for it being 1993 (lulz, I remember playing it at age 3) to WC3 which actually followed up and was awesome (Anyone notice it sorta went like star wars? Apprentice killing master?) I mean, I dont think they'll do too bad for the storyline, im worried that it might go supreme commander where everthings the same, not only graphically , but statistically.

What I'm actually worried about is whether the new set of units will be as good as the old set. They seem to be basing most of the new units around cliff-jumping, as if that's the best they could do for 'adding a new dimension' to the game. Seems pretty retarded to me.

Yeah, that's basically what I was trying to say. I don't want them to add shitloads of excess units and end up with some that you'd never use. The unit inventory in Starcraft 1 is tight as hell - every unit has its moment of glory. I hope it's like that for 2.

I just finished the campaign on Company Of Heroes today (It's now possibly my favourite game, and a bloody awesome RTS). I'm gonna go through it again on...Hard. I got a lot better at it as I played through, so much so that the later missions got easier for me :p

I'm pretty pleased that there's an expansion pack out in October (afaik...), too. It features the British :D

Haven't really played anything in a few years but I am tempted to get out Baldurs Gate 2 / Civilization 2 again. Best games ever. Also someone was doing a mod for HL2 that replicated HL1, will have to try that when it's finished.

I got stuck on the final mission in CoH. If I recall correctly (it's been a while since I played it) you start that mission with whatever you had left from the previous mission so if you did quite poorly on that one you were basically fucked. And I did quite poorly. Never really felt like doing that all over again. It really is an awesome game though. Certainly one of the more intense RTS games.

Hmmm, I'm really digging BF 2142 now though; the fact that I can walk around in battle walkers in frothing my crotch up at the mere though of it.

I am going to get BF2 though; but before I do that, is the online community alive and well for the game? Does it have a single player campaign at all?

Bumpin' dis.

I'm not about to go back through this thread to see if it was already mentioned, so I'll just assume it wasn't. Anyway, I just recently beat The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (for Wii). God damn that was a great fucking game. I'd like the re=play it sometime, partly because it was just that good, but also to see if I can't do a more thorough job. There's some stuff I missed the first time around.

Absolutely yes to the first question... if not bigger than 2142's. It is a better game on a whole, imo... EXCEPT that its a less stable game, and rather imbalanced on some maps.

As for the second part... SP? No fucking way.

I've been playing it since it came out two years ago. When it works, god damn is it fun. Playing with 63 other people just isn't something you can do these days outside of a wallet/time-draining MMO.

Anyways, I play a lot of crap. A lot of good crap. About to buy a 360 to add to this crap collection... probably Gears of War with it. I don't think I can wait for the PC version any longer, plus I can't pass up the opportunity to wail on people with Soul Calibur 4 coming to XBL soon....
