i've been playing the crash team racing remake, really enjoying it so far but i haven't tried the online function yet. my favourite thing to do single player was always just doing time trials and trying to unlock/beat ntropy and oxide's times, which is just as fun/frustrating as i remembered. always the superior kart racer let's be real.

Not familiar with Crash Team Racing, but if you like kart racers, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is a shockingly great and overlooked one.

I've been meaning to beat The Last of Us for years and am finally back into it. Last time I played it was 2014 and gave up about half way through so I started over and am enjoying it more than my first time playing it. My controller is fucked up though and every time I press the aim button half the direction pad buttons have a stroke and hit at random. The combat is clunky under ideal circumstances but it's 10x more frustrating when I aim for an enemy and I switch weapons randomly to be 1 hit killed by an enemy. I'm too cheap to spend money on a new controller so I'll see if I can finish it.

Anyone want to recommend me some steam sale stuff? I actually have a laptop capable of playing most anything. I’m up for whatever. I’m pretty far gone from gaming so I do like single player stuff.

FPS, fighters (although idk if that translates well to PC) rpgs.
definitely pick up the 2016 Doom reboot dude. I promise you wont regret it. Alien: Isolation is another one that might be right up your alley.

For 2D fighters i'd say Street Fighters V is a must. The new Samurai Shodown game is fucking badass and is rather friendly to beginners. I've also heard the new Mortal Kombat game is pretty cool but i havent picked it up yet. For 3d fighters i'd say go with the new Soul Calibur. Tekken 7 is pretty bad ass but definitely not beginner friendly. And yeah, fighting games on good rigs run godly ... all you would have to do is pick up either a proper controller or a fightstick.

Havent played too many RPG's so i dont really ahve anything for you there. Been thinking about picking up The Witcher though. Last JRPG i played was Ni No Kuni and got bored out of my mind.... might go back to it one day.

Doom sounds like a winner for sure then, you’re the second person that’s told me how badass it is. Looks like it’s bundled with Wolfenstein II for 30 bucks right now too. I have a five day weekend ahead and no plans so I may hit things heavy.

I’ll have to look into a controller or fight stick but I don’t know if I want to get back into all that. I got really obsessed with SF4 when it came out and got to the point I could even beat that bullshit boss on maximum difficulty. I think I destroyed like 3 different Xbox controllers they that time.

Got Celeste for my birthday and it's super good. One of the better games I've played in recent years.

Pretty difficult, but never feels cheap like a lot of 2d precision platformers do.

Visuals are 10/10

Fantastic OST too.
