So, as most of you know, I am getting married in May 2010. Anybody have any ideas for

a) wedding - bride/groom songs...THAT DONT SUCK (or a little less sacharine than most)

b) Mother/Son songs ... THAT DONT SUCK.

Please, hep me out brothas n sistas.

my bride/groom song was a Dean Martin track ,... You're nobody till somebody loves you ... raised an eyebrow, non mushy and rather cool, crowd got into the fast tempo and had a good time and it was short enough where it did not drag out.

I don't remember my mom/son song

my tip is not to overspend. you will be so busy that day that you won't even be able to eat or drink properly, let alone really enjoy yourself.
your family cares about you guys and the rest of the people just come to get drunk and dance ... so blowing money on crazy decorations, etc. is really a waste.

make sure you eat a decent sized meal before going to the ceremony. you WILL NOT get to sit down and eat. when we left, we told the limo driver to go through a drive-thru, Whataburger was the first one we saw.

i hear you all on the wedding stuff, and believe me....i know. if it was up to me, i would just take off and elope. but her family is old-school portuguese and are very traditional and...you get the picture.

i am just trying to find good songs that arent queer. all these sappy love songs that my girl is throwing my way are killing me.
