yea....

so someone explain to me how the hell I use it. I assume you are supposed to use it to keep tracks from clipping or something. Whenever I put the clip knob at anything less than 100% i get clipping. And it seems that using gclip is making my tracks clip or become distorted? Idk, someone tell me how to use this damn thing:mad:

Yeah, that's what GClip is for. It's a clipper. It adds clipping, which helps smooth out peaks. It's particularly usefull on drum, where the clipping isn't as noticeable, to keep the limiter and compressor on the master from completely raping your drum tone.

It seems to me all your track levels are way too hot and therefore clipping and you are using it to remove the 'clipping' as a result of this. Oh dear...not quite what it's for.

Rex explained it.

Not really used to prevent clipping .... more to artificially clip the snare/whatever drum so that is doesn't get destroyed in master compression/mastering/etc.
