but does metal head = geek?

just a question that i have been pondering for the last few days.
i have been wondering about this because, as a pretty big geek and almost as big a metal head, i was wondering if people other than the ones that i know (who are all much like i am) were like this.

Yeah, most of us here are kind of nerdy, but I wouldn't consider most of us to be geeks. We all have social lives, friends, etc. but most of us have niche hobbies or whatever.

it really depends on what you define as metal head? are you gonna include the chest pounding redneck pantera fans? if you dont, and i wouldnt, then the answer is yeah. 95% of metal heads are nerds.

I'm geeky in the sense that this is what I do on my free time. I still go out and party with friends and have a pretty decent social life.

You said it best. A lot of metalheads are diverse people so we actually have hobbies. I meet a lot of people who are into the pop scene (for example) & they all have no hobbies whatsoever; they just exist. Oh, & going out & getting fucked up is not a hobby; at least not to me.

if it weren't for metal, i would never have learned how to work a computer and considering how much time i put on the computer researching bands and finding more music... i'd consider that a bit nerdy but i wouldn't consider myself a geek because i have a pretty strong social life

I don't really have a social life but that's the way I like it as I'm more of a loner. I have my friends though, and I always doing shit so I don't just sit in my house all day.

Plus I play college baseball so I have no time to do anything, and the time I do have all I want to do is relax
