I've noticed that Opeth albums are notoriously difficult to find in Canadian CD stores... If the store is lucky to have them at all, the only albums they ever carry are BWP, Deliverance and Damnation... On top of this Opeth CD's are also ridiculously expensive. At a local HMV in the Toronto area I saw MAYH for 32.99!!! I also purchased my Still Life for 27.99...

Since Ghost Reveries is being released by a huge label like roadrunner... can I assume that Opeth will be easier to find(?), and perhaps be more reasonably priced?

I would say they will be much easier to find. Roadrunner stuff is easily available here, and occasionally really cheap. So yea they will be easier to find and B yea they will be cheaper, if ya wait, or get it on sale.

I got pretty much all of Opeth's CDs at A&B sound (doesn't help anyone in TO, but they do have a website...) for about $20. Only one I spent more than $25 on was the original MAYH release at CD Plus.

My parents were mad at me buying so many CDs, look at you guys paying $30 hehe... I just pay $14.99 or so.

Yea I wouldnt expect other Opeth releases to be easy to find... I was just referring to Ghost Reveries...

and I don't usually spend this much on CD's... I work at a used cd store so i get already cheap cd's at a discount price...its just that Opeth is harder to come by than the pope in this store

This is why Opeth signed to Roadrunner -- so the CD will be available everywhere.

i dont get why people dont buy cds of the internet, its easy, cheap, worldwide delivery and depending on the place, quick delivery. and if your under 18, just steal your parents card, they'll appreciate that you have saved money at least.

anyway, since buying over the internet i think its expensive to spend over £10 for a new release, and most older albums are about £5-6 from amazon market place.

amazon market place = much better than ebay.

That will only affect the new album though. Roadrunner most likely won't own the distribution rights for the previous albums. And I doubt those who own it will part from it since Opeth is probably their money maker.

I see all the albums out west in Canada (Vancouver) at various record stores and they're all under $20.

I agree, if you can't find it at your local stores, why not try amazon.com or something like that? You could get the cd for the same price or even less, including shipping.

you're assuming that the parents arn't crack addled welfare rejects with as much chance of having a credit card as you are of having a gf

:Smokin:

would all you morons stop posting these "hard to find albums" threads. Just because your local virgin megastore doesn't carry anything other than Damnation.

theendrecords.com, amazon.com and ebay.com that is all you need to know.

yup, buying cds online is superior. also, it sucks that in non-us countries, fans pay like $25- $30 for some cds. the most i'll pay for a cd is $20, and that is only if its really rare. i generally get my cds for $9-$14.

^ same, i wont pay more than 15 unless its a double album, import etc. I just bought themes from william black the marriage of heaven and hell + blood inside by ulver online from theend for 23 dollars! got a couple stickers too. Bastards forgot my poster though...

that sucks, the poster is cool. it's really thin, different from most posters hah. also, how cool is the booklet, all glossy like? as for the sticker, i dunno where the F to put it, so it'll remain on its cover for some time.

also, william blake is one record of ulver's i've yet to hear. i expect awesomeness though. since i think that was their first "off record" from their BM style.

^ william blake is really, really wierd and im still trying to figure it out. Its an interesting listen though.

Yea the booklet is indeed awsome looking. Really neat and easy to read. The artwork is really cool too.

I got the ulver sticker on top of where i keep my cds, and the theend records sticker i put on my computer

yeah i'll check out william blake soon enough. speaking of WB, he's mentioned on i think track 2 on blood inside, right above the lyrics. what's the link?

also, blood inside is dedicated to 2 children, i guess they are garm's kids?
