GMD Poll: Top Ten Albums of 1991

1. Fear of God - Within the Veil

2. Solitude Aeturnus - Into the Depths of Sorrow
3. Sieges Even - A Sense of Change
4. Hexenhaus - Awakening
5. Coroner - Mental Vortex
6. Anacrusis - Manic Impressions
7. Sepultura - Arise
8. Mordred - In This Life
9. Shadow Gallery - Shadow Gallery
10. Heathen - Victims of Deception

Considerung that the last four albums got hardly any spins at all from me during the last two decades, I might have stopped my list right after the first 6 albums. And I seriously doubt that Shadow Gallery's debut was already released in 1991, but I included it to make it a top 10. I do have more albums from 1991, but they don't appeal to me (anymore) to include them in my personal top 10 - it might have been different 26 years ago.

1) Sentenced - Shadows of the Past
2) Entombed - Clandestine
3) Convulse - World Without God
4) At the Gates - Gardens of Grief
5) Grave - Into the Grave
6) Darkthrone - Soulside Journey
7) Gorguts - Considered Dead
8) Sepultura - Arise
9) Meshuggah - Contradictions Collapse
10) Dismember - Like an Everflowing Stream

Very difficult list to make. Can't believe I had to leave out Suffocation, Bolt Thrower and Coroner (among others)..also big shout to HBB for helping me discover Anacrusis. Really been enjoying Manic Impressions, and it probably deserves to be in this top 10, but I can't in good conscience put an album I've just heard on there.

Also it seems this forum unanimously agrees that Dismember was the best OSDM from Sweden this year, but I find that Entombed, Grave, At the Gates and Sentenced (although from Finland) did it better. Can someone tell me why I'm wrong?
