I’ve not heard enough to make a list either. I’m so behind this year. But at least I can use this thread to see what I need to check out.

I won't vote either because I haven't heard very much from this year but I'll be sure to check out the resulting top 10.

I have not listened to many albums from this year and even the ones that I've heard didn't get a lot of playtime. I spent most of the past couple months listening to 70s prog / hard rock / heavy psych. I just ordered a few 2017 albums but I won't have time to digest them for this list.

1. Malokarpatan - Nordkarpatenland
2. Impetuous Ritual - Blight Upon Martyred Sentience
3. Krolok - Flying Above Ancient Ruins
4. Pagan Altar - The Room Of Shadows
5. The Chasm - A Conscious Creation from the Isolated Domain - Phase I
6. Cult of Eibon - Lycan Twilight Sorcery
7. Antichrist - Sinful Birth
8. Phrenelith - Desolate Endscape
9. Immolation - Atonement
10. Incantation - Profane Nexus

M-A and Discogs both say so, but the official thread on NWN's forums suggests no one had actually heard it until 2017, and finding info on that particular picture disc is hard. I think the Nov 2016 date may come from a pre-release, incomplete Bandcamp stream and not an actual physical release.

EDIT: Eh nvm, M-A seems to prove that wrong actually.

From what I can gather, the initial 2016 picture disc was made for selling at a festival (limited to 100 apparently) and then after that they widely released it.

But since you're right there doesn't seem to be much information and no actual links to the music in any variation seems to have been uploaded before 2017, probably just let it slide.

Yeah Forsaken is on my obv to check out list, but I'm so lazy nowdays so I never bother. New Summoning is an exception tho.

1) Spectral Voice - Eroded Corridors of Unbeing
2) Almyrkvi - Umbra
3) Kartikeya - Samudra
4) Necrot - Blood Offerings
5) Dying Fetus - Wrong One to Fuck With
6) The Ruins of Beverast - Exuvia
7) Phrenelith - Desolate Endscape
8) Power Trip - Nightmare Logic
9) Immolation - Atonement
10) Ufomammut - 8

I can confirm that the Holocausto EP came out in 2016 because my friend has had it since last year.

It's not an EP according to NWN, if we're splitting hairs.

I feel like this is similar to what HHR did with the Communion album btw. It was never really meant to be released in 2016.
Is this the album that was released as a complete misprint and the music on the vinyl Fallen Angel of Doom?

It was a limited to 100 release at NWN! Fest V last November, where the band also played live. That's confirmed information.
