RYM film chart

Deadline is AROUND OR AFTER XMAS/EARLY2020. If you need an extension just say so and it will absolutely be considered. This is usually just a soft deadline to make sure everybody doesn't become complacent.

REMEMBER for those of you who haven't seen many films from this year or in general, you can always submit lists as small as only having 5 submissions.

Rules:

- Please submit at least 5 films.
- First place in your rankings gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9, etcetc, 10th gets 1.
- Feel free to post more than 10, but only the top 10 will get points.
- Feel free to post less than 10, the same scoring will apply.
- Feel free not to rank your picks, in which case all ten picks will get 5.5 points.
- If you're so much of a dick that you have to post more than 10 unranked picks, the maths will be worked out.

It also has David Gulpili, John Jarret and Aaron Pederson, so it's a tremendous Aussie cast of quality actors, well worth seeing.

Man I’ve gotta watch some of the Asian horror films from this year before I make my list. Haven’t seen any of them from this year.

Too many insane scenes to praise but the scene where the hermaphrodite shoots a blow-dart from her pussy and period blood squirts out the pipe will always stay with me lmfao. Those small unnecessary touches that makes Miike the king.

Weather Woman:

Based on a manga of course; a supernatural femdom and chronic masturbator named Keiko becomes the weather woman for a news company and turns the whole building into her personal harem after boosting their ratings through the roof by flashing her panties during a broadcast, and even takes the ex-weather woman for her lesbian slave. Goofy beyond belief but hilarious and weird in all the best ways, it even ends with a crazy magical sword fight. Kei Mizutani rules.

Before Obi met Qui-Gon Jinn and got his act together, he was a degenerate Scot.

I was curious when you said a good chunk of our lists overlapped. Over half, nice. AND Crash at number 1.

That's the scene that sold Jodorowsky. "MIIKE TAKASHI THIS GUY IS FANTASTIC!"

1. Thesis [Tesis] - Alejandro Amenabar
2. Lone Star - John Sayles
3. Fargo - Joel Coen
4. Trainspotting - Danny Boyle
5. A Moment of Innocence aka Bread and Flowers [Noon e Goldoon] - Mohsen Makhmalbaf
6. Scream - Wes Craven
7. Crash - David Cronenberg
8. The English Patient - Anthony Minghella

Not a particularly deep year. Thesis is definitely my top pick- such a tense, grimy Argento influenced thriller without the cartoonish elements of giallo. Amenabar never came close to matching it.
