Obviously make sure to hit up RYM yourself and search your favourite genres.

The deadline is 21st of August 2018.

The rules:
- submit at least 5 releases.
- first place in your rankings gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9, etcetc, 10th gets 1.
- feel free to post more than 10, but only the top 10 will get points.
- feel free to post less than 10, the same scoring will apply.
- feel free not to rank your picks, in which case all ten picks will get 5.5 points.

GNMD = General Non-Metal Discussion, so NO METAL ALBUMS are to be included in anybody's list.

2. Blind Melon - Blind Melon
3. King's X - King's X
4. Distorted Pony - Punishment Room
5. T-Ride - T-Ride
6. Echolyn - Suffocating the Bloom
7. The Jesus Lizard - Liar
8. Levitation - Need for Not

My Sister's Machine - Diva

Joe Satriani - The Extremist
Dazzling Killmen - Dig Out the Switch

A shitton of canonical non-metal stuff I've never listened to. For the longest time I thought REM was a hip-hop act on the basis of Automatic for the People's album title.

I assume that the deadline mentioned in the initial post is meant to be 21st September 2018.

Not much of interest for me from this year. At least I managed to come up with the minimum number required to participate. Hadn't listened to most of them for years (in some cases even decades), but after revisiting them, I noticed some where better than I remembered them.

1. Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes
2. Ketil Bjørnstad/Erik Hillestad - Messe for en såret jord
3. Hedningarna - kaksi!
4. The Bulgarian State Female Choir - Mystères
5. Qntal - I

1. Screaming Jets – Tear Of Thought
2. Paul Kelly and the Messengers - Hidden Things
3. KISS – Revenge
4. Hunters & Collectors – Cut
5. Brian May - Back to the Light
6. Roxette – Tourism
7. Ugly Kid Joe - America's Least Wanted
8. L7 - Bricks Are Heavy
9. The 12th Man - Still the 12th Man
10. Rollins Band - The End of Silence

What I saw listed it as punk so I listed it anyway.
Same as the L7 album, I've seen it listed as hard rock and metal.
In the end I figured fuck it, it's not like my choices every make much of a dent in the top 10, if one of them doesn't get counted I'd never know anyway.

1 - Dr. Dre - The Chronic
2 - Stone Temple Pilots - Core
3 - Djivan Gasparyan - I Will Not Be Sad in This World
4 - Blind Melon - Blind Melon
5 - X-Raided - Psycho Active
6 - Beastie Boys - Check Your Head
7 - Tom Waits - Bone Machine
8 - Sade - Love Deluxe
9 - The Black Crows - Southern Harmony & Musical Companion
10 - REM - Automatic for the People
