That game was so shit. Finland's women were much better. At least they played with spirit. The men didn't play with any spirit or pride...looked like they were sleeping the first half. WAKE UP.

It's not? I always thought the four three scandanavian countries were norway, sweden and finland.
I did get to see the first two periods of the canada/slovakia game. I can't believe that finland lost to our team so badly. And I also can't believe that sweden lost to slovakia. But whatever, I'm glad I got to watch some olympic hockey finally.

America representin' i see. NO, Finland is not scandinavian, it never was and it never will be. Scandinavia is Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Those three countries share the same type of language, finland is nowhere close, theyre more slavs than scandinavian. And just to put it out there, Finland were never vikings either, they got raped and pillaged by vikings, and thats about how close Finland were to vikings; a cock up the arse.

And back to hockey, extremely dissapointing performance by Sweden. Hopefully Finland goes home with the bronze at least, and let's wait for tomorrows final, gonna be fun. I'm not too keen on Crosby but I don't like Miller nor quite some of the players on the USA roster so I'm rooting for Canada. Hopefully it's a fun game with many goals on each side and decided in the last seconds of overtime hehe.

My dear, it's not some local league, it's the Olympics. Does the name Paavo Nurmi ring a bell? It should/might for any Finn...for what he did during the Olympics. It's engraved.
The team from Finland this year forgot this is not some sort of holiday vacation. Maybe the FINNISH LIONS should be the young players from the local league who will play with all that they got. Play with their whole heart. It certainty wasn't there this year.
And there is a lot of talent in the amateur and pro leagues in Finland, for sure.

I was told that a very recent find showed that the first vikings came from Finland. (Finland was not a country of it's own at that time). And anyway, when I was little, I remember being told that the swedes would always bring a finn to protect them from magic, or something of the like. I don't really remember most of it. Warrior-wizard or something like that.
But whether that is true or not, I don't know. But I do know that the Finns were known to the Vikings because they would participate in plundering and trading. And the Vikings were terrible things, anyway. Nothing to be proud of, in my opinion.

But excluding crosby, canada's got all kinds of bad ass players. Marleau, niedermayer, pronger, getzlaf, iginla, staal... Among others. Awesome. Also, how did russia do this year?
