Why haven't you listened to this before, Lasse? :loco:
The kick on TWoAF is absolutely amazing, probably the most fitting kick I have ever heard.
I'm not a big fan of the snare but the rest of the mix makes up for it so immensely.
:headbang:

Awesome album. Drums were recorded at Logan Mader's studio.

Seen them live in France 2 months ago, and it was one of the best gigs i've ever seen in my life (and i'm telling you i've seen many AWESOME ones).

Drums recorded with Logan Mader in LA, vocals/guits/bass recorded in France. Mader mixed.

Guitars were 5150 III head, unknown cab - I assume it was either Mesa or the 5150 III matching cab. Head was not a Peavey 5150, tho! Pickups were definitely Duncan JB... both guys use the JB in either Joe's 2 SLS's or Christians RR5's.

There are pictures of overdubs being done at Logan's studio w/ a 5150 head (green channel), Mesa 4x12, and Logan's old signature ESP w/81.

In the past, both studio AND live, they use a TLM103 on guitar cabs. I can only assume since they did the guitars back home in France, that they used this mic again.

i seen a pod in there. it was probably just used for tracking though...

twoaf is one of my fav albums right now. caught them live with inflames, all that remains and 36cf in november. they totally kicked ass!

This album has my favorite production/mix out of any other album out there, I think... spent a good week trying to figure out WTF was used! Finally found in a GW interview, Joe said that Fender shipped them out a 5150 III and they used it for the tracking the new album.

Fuck I want that guitar tone.

TLM103 on a guitar cab......methinks i'll have to give it a try. I've always been too afriad of damaging them

I guess if you're starting with an awesome tone then it'd give a truthful representation

+1 on all of that and I'd add that the mix has a unique character overall and it really fits the music.

Logan Mader is the new black.

This is the ONLY state-of-the-art modern ultra-clean metal production (this means excluding Bogren) that kinda floored me in quite a while. Damn impressive!

I just haven't made my mind up yet if I might prefer the dirtier/more organic sound of FMTS for this band. But generally speaking, this production kills!
