Good Emperor album to start out with?

Agreed. Remember, maybe he just doesn't get anything out of post-ITNE Emperor. I don't really get anything out of WOTT, so there. I do maintain that Anthems hardly lacks structure, and isn't really cheesy, but whatever.

btw, is that Jennifer Love Hewitt in your avatar? If so: DAY-AMN!

yep

I stated my opinion and gave several reasons for it. If you have a problem with that, you're obviously a nasty elitist and people won't like you very much at all.

BTW Jennifer Love Hewitt looks like she's about to star as the villain in Ghostbusters.

Eucharist were apparently 15/16 year olds when they wrote A Velvet Creation. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes, I've got that clear... what you said though was "were about my age"...

Am I the only person (poser?) who doesn't think much at all of ITNE?
I Am The Black Wizards and Inno A Satana are classics but the rest of it is fairly underwhelming in my opinion.
You're not the only one. I agree completely.

Beyond that though... one of my problems is the production, which has uhhh... obviously come up before on occasion. I really hate the shitty production on the older stuff, so I am of the opinion that their later stuff is better for only that reason.

Although... I don't know if anyone else has ever noticed this, but it seems to me that the shittier the speakers are I am listening to old Emperor through, the better it sounds.

Is it just me? I think it has something to do with a narrower frequency response focusing more on midrange frequencies which is where most of the music production lies. Above and below the midrange is where there is a lot of mud and noise that detracts from the music.

the first album I bought was Nightside Eclipse. I have everything from Emperor :) If you like Prometheus, try to listening IX Equilibrium first.
