good technical death metal

Someone in this thread... do a death metal-newb a favor, and list all of the good bands mentioned in this thread that don't have the following words or phrases in any of their songs:

- "Satan"
- "Rape Jesus"
- "Suicide is all that's left"
- "Burn ________ at the stake"
- "Children's blood"
- "I hate everyone"

You get the idea ;)

I usually like the death metal I hear, but unfortunately it all seems to be on subjects like these. I'd be grateful to hear some intelligent death.

Well, most straight-up death metal is going to contain things like that... Nile Dim-Mak, and Decapitated come to mind as "clean" death metal bands, with my personal favorite being the latter. For not so clean... Origin, Cryptopsy, Vehemence, Bloodbath...

Then, you have your technical death [ie: Death, Cynic, Atheist, Theory In Practice, The Red Chord, Gorguts]. which is generally concerned with metaphysical things. Now, what's tech and what's not, according to this thread, is debatable. Those are just the few DM bands I like, and where I consider them to be.

Well I've heard a few songs on Symbolic from Death, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Can't say that I'd be interested in looking into their "Screamy Bloody Gore" era though ;)

Can't really get into Nile considering all I hear when I listen to their songs is prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRR rrrrrr

Decapitated
Severed Saviour
Origin
Nile
Mrykskog
DEATH'S BOUNDARIES (although there more thrash)
PSYCROPTIC

Thats About All I Can Think Of Right Now. It Also Depends On What You All Class As Technical. By The Way The Ones In Caps Are Aussie Bands \m/

Calllenish Circle, a short review of their latest album Flesh-Power-Dominion (2002) :

"Their new album "Flesh-Power-Dominion" is a real killer...
Undoubtly one of the very best releases in the whole
Melo-Death-Metal genre so far. With sheer unbelievable
instrumental works and with high artistic claim played."

I suggest you guys check em out.....

Tho according to TheEndRecords, their latest release sounds like Korn :erk:
But "Above the Light" and "Tribe" is kick ass in my opinion.

Yes, i heard something about the nu-metal resemblance myself, but who cares, when theyve released three kickass albums before, my personal favorite is actually Crust, i like the sound of that album, so crunchy, and i LOVE "I rape you" its one of the coolest songs ive heard in a while.

Thunderbolt: You go ahead and fuck them then... cause considering your musical knowledge it would be right up the alley for you

Why hasn't any Aussie mentioned Alarum?????
or are they too diverse to be classified as tech death?

Try Mutant, side project for guys from Theory in Practice. And Extol, if you can get around the religion.

And it's not death metal, but if you don't have Spiral Architect's "A Sceptic's Universe" yet I will ask Thunderbolt to fuck you in the ear.
