Goregrind

the only bands i saw and have heard in this thread are ghoul, carcass and haemorrhage but i always just considered those to be kinda groovy death metal. are there other bands in the genre that are like that?
 
I wouldn't say that Carcass's first two albums were death metal; ditto on early Haemorrhage. However, to answer your question, definitely check out Cock and Ball Torture. They're very groove-based, and heavy as fuck.
 
Gruesome Stuff Relish's second album is fucking amazing. They take on a more death metal sound on that album and it easily tops their debut imo.

Cookiecutter, you need to start branching out more. :)
 
Would General Surgery be considered goregrind or just grind/death with gorey elements? They are one of my favorites. I guess I'm not so much a fan of goregrind as I am of the more straight up grind sounding bands.

Subgenres within genres get confusing sometimes. :loco:
 
I would consider them goregrind.

I never liked the term 'goregrind' but it does have a defining sound, I guess.
