"goth" as a loaded word/a people

I've never been a fan of the goth subculture. I do like some songs but I don't think I've ever listened to "proper" goth music much to make much judgement.

The appeal of goth rock to me is that it is first and foremost catchy rock music, plus I'm a huge fan of pretty much all '80s pop and almost all post-punk (that I've heard, obviously no one has heard EVERY band in a given genre). Catchiness first. It doesn't even have to be that "dark" - three of my favorite goth rock songs below
