What I want to know is what is special about the blooddrunk solo? I mean, there are countless numbers of people who can play it better than Alexi himself

Not all of it is judged simply by technicality. It also has to do with your overall performance.

They probably picked the Blooddrunk solo because it's not too long, and not too hard. But not the easiest, either. That way you can be original and show your skill in other ways as well. Like it says, you have to be entertaining.

And even if someone just got all their friends to vote for them, or went to all the trouble of voting for themselves, that's only 1/3 winners. The grand prize winner is picked by the judges. The other is a random sweepstakes winner, who doesn't even have to submit a video at all.

That said, I'm probably going to practice my ass off every day on that solo until I get it down perfect. I want to win this so bad, haha.

lol I'll do it while wearing a bodom shirt and just focusing the camera on my guitar and hands. you'll have to sync the audio and video yourself tho

but all that whammy action in the beginning is kinda new to me...I have to at least make it look somewhat real let me try practicing the solo for a few days and see if it can at least look feasible.

Yea it would be cool to see him jamming there with COB. After all the vids he's done on youtube he deserves it. But there are many good guitarists out there and here.

I was excited to hear you could win an amp but all it is is the Marshall MG series half stack.
The only really exciting thing about winning is jaming with the guys.

Yeah, I first read that letter from Alexi and thought that it's so fake, no way Alexi would ever use word "widget" but then I watched video and it's just hilarious...nice playground
