HAIR METAL!...Dedicated to The Trooper

Sorry Bryant, but I couldn't disagree with you more. I'll take Ron over Mark any day! Slaughter sounds like he's singing through his nose. :) The stuff he did with Vinnie V is ok but I didn't dig the solo stuff.
To each his own brother, but make sure you see/hear Mark (if he is still around) live. I even give him kudos on prog boards I post on. Yes his voice is so high it is shrill, but he hits that live with power in an unreal way. He is definitely in my top 15 vocalists I have ever seen live.

Nice choice, there! I forgot Tesla, myself. Now, you had me with those two, but then i read this.....oh, Bryant, say it ain't so. Dokken, in my eyes, are one of,if not the best hair band out there! And George Lynch is STILL a monster player!

I still like some of their songs, but to listen to them straight would require me to make a "best of." They had a "magic" between the two, but I don't think either were "great" songwriters.

Let us not forget a band that is hairier than any hair metal band..... ZZTop. Of course it's funny that the only member that doesn't have a beard is Frank Beard, but ZZ was as cool as cool could be and they were old men back then. ZZ created "cool" in their laid back Texas style. Great band.

I'm also a Mark Slaughter fan. I LOVE his voice. I think his voice was better in Invasion but suited Slaughter's music better (Robert Fleischmann was THE Invasion vocalist, he suited them alot better). Although Mark sounded awesome on tracks like Ashes To Ashes and That Time Of Year, some of the sleazier more straight forward rockin' tracks would've sounded better with the sound of the debut and Robert's voice.

"The Wild Life" is my favourite Slaughter album. KILLER record! "Reach For The Sky" is one of the most perfect concert openers around haha!

Anyway, if you wanna catch Slaughter on this particular tour they are doing at the moment, Bobby Rock is filling in for Blas Elias on drums which means Slaughter are 3/4 of All Systems Go-era Vinnie Vincent Invasion at the moment!

I think both VVI albums are worth picking up :) I prefer the debut, its more consistent overall as an album start to finish and has that killer heavy guitar sound and Robert's ear shattering vocals which I love.... the 2nd album is more melodic hard rock but with some sleazy glammy songs too. I think the sleazy songs on All Systems Go don't work with the production & sound of the album, they sound a bit flat (though they still sound good, I'm just comparing to the debut I spose which sounds amazing). However its definitely worth picking up just for songs like That Time Of Year, Love Kills, Ashes To Ashes, etc which are fantastic tracks.

Ther Are Many, Some Good And Some Bad
Good: Dio, W.a.s.p, Twisted Sister, Deep Purple, Quiet Riot, Scorpions, motley Crue, Skid Row, Stryper(haha), Yngwie Malmsteen??, Dokken, queensryche, And Of Course I'm Sure That I Forgot Many. Some Would Even Say Judas Priest, Ozzy, Motorhead, Megadeath, But Personally The Only Bands That Should Be Called Hair Metal Are The Shit Bands That Got All Those Stuck Up Chicks And Weenies Together Ie: Poison, Motley Crue ( Only After Theatre Of Pain), Bon Jovi, And The Endless Bands That Made Those Songs, That Caused Every Real Metal Head To Vomit Instantly.

Too Funny!!! I have this mental picture of the members of Motorhead in long fuzzy blonde wigs....

Hahaha.... I want to be there when someone asks Lemmy what it's like playing in a hair metal band. I can see his mole throbbing right now!

Sinner, we're just kidding around, don't get mad. :) ....... but you may want to rethink your Motorhead is hair metal post.
