Help convince me to go Mac...

Mulder, that's... probably one of the most useless surveys ever conducted on computers.

Jeff

It wasn't conducted on computers, it was conducted on gays.

"In a recent survey, 757 gay and lesbian participants were asked to rank companies by their gay-friendly factor. Apple came in first place"

I-should-have-known.

Amsterdam... What was I thinking...

yeah... seriously.... why would you even post something like that? weak Mulder.

i did like this quote from one respondent's comment: "duh... apple's gay friendly cuz iphones and ipods are easier to stick up gay assholes than samsungs phones and mp3 players "

kinda puts a period on exactly how inane the entire concept of that so-called survey's results are.

yeah... seriously.... why the fuck would anyone post some hater shit like that? weak Mulder.

WTF? Gays love Apple above all! That's just what it sez! There's no hate in that. And thinking I could be a redneck gaybasher or stuff is unthinkable, I live in Holland. Any comments on gays means you will be argued to the point of insanity.

And if you didn't notice, Amsterdam is the gay capital of the world. House / techno is rather popular amongst the gay community.

For years I was surrounded by them, but it took me until this christmas to realise that. So now it all comes together. Were's the bigotry in that?

Gays are sensitive and artistic people. And they see the Applebrand as the one that completes their lifestyle the most.

Nobody should have a problem with that.

It's not about porn, its about lifestyle! Tsk, always this focus on libido..

Gay people are just as normal as other Appleusers. Gay men do live some sort of normal life.

Although... I once visited this place (collegue was a DJ there):

http://www.clubcockring.com/main.shtml

Thank god it wasn't during openinghours, but I never knew the second most commonly known use of liquid fryingfat around there was... well...

For all the flaming that could go on, these threads are always interesting just because they show how far away from computing a discussion can actually go...

... but digital is for n00wbs and tape still sounds better.

Jeff

I woke up and checked this thread for giggles...wtf happened? How did it get on to the topic of gays approving of Apple?!?!?

Sorry bout that. All part of the healingprocess of my inner nerd. Now I have to come to terms with the fact that I don't fully embrace the homosexual lifestyle as the enriching experience it is. Being an educated agnostic heterosexual white male in Holland this is a severe felony.

I'll start therapy in a few days.

Today has been incredibly boring, because no games work on OSX and I don't have a Windows XP to bootcamp my Mac. Aargh! I never thought I'd miss playing games this much

No chance to game on consoles either (ps2, ps3, gcube or wii), because we've had relatives visiting all the time, so I couldn't use the tv in our living room :erk:

lol

What are the best nonarguments to convince someone to get a mac ?

1. Because many pros use it.
LOLOLOL yeah i know that many amateurs buy them and expect to become more "pro" ;)
Seriously if you have some talent you will become a pro regardless of what type of computer you have in your studio.

2. Because of "better" software.
Hmm this could be the best argument... but it is a nonargument because the software is only as good as the human being who moves and clicks the mouse and types on the keyboard. If you don't know how to use Logic then even Fruity Loops will be better in your hands hehehe.

3. Because they are cool.
Yeah right... roftlmao ! Be yourself and you will be cooler than every wannabe kid who thinks that any gadget will make him cool.

4. Because of their better stability and reliability.
MAC crash too, MAC break too, it is more expensive to repair it, a properly maintained PC will be as rock stable and reliable as my PC is, but i know what i am doing, so if you are not good at troubleshooting PC and WIN XP you may as well get a MAC if you have too much money.

5. Because there is absolutely no risk of getting a virus on a MAC.
If you MAC user really think it is true and are careless online and offline then most probably you already have a virus on your machine - you just dont know about it because you dont think you need to have a virus scanner on your MAC. I will write it in capital letters: THERE IS NO COMPUTER THAT IS 100% IMMUNE TO VIRUSES, yes there are more virii written for PC but if you are careful and KNOW WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO then you will be relatively safe even on a PC.

Bottom line:

If you know how to use your PC/WIN XP and if you are better at using Cubendo, Reaper, etc on a PC than Logic, whatever etc on a MAC and if you like to have an access to few excellent freeware, hundreds of good quality freeware and thousands of crappy freeware apps then stay with your PC.

If not then you are free to CHOOSE and LEARN and MASTER whichever of these 2.

ps. Sorry for not convincing you to go MAC ;)
