Why thank ya guys, glad you liked it! I actually wanted to put Savatage in there since they're my favorite band. But I had to draw the line somewhere because there's only so much room. So I stuck with classic bands that had roots in the 70s since they were the pioneers of the genre and inspired so many of the bands we listen to today.
The challenge to making these collages is finding the right photos. I spent two hours looking up pictures and fifteen minutes creating the collage effect. So you can see where all my time gets eaten up! I could probably make up some more if you guys can find photos you'd like to use. But you have to be careful in selecting...the photos have to be displayed at a small size and still be recognizable. That's not as easy as it sounds! For every pic I put in that graphic, I disregarded at least 100 photos that just wouldn't work. Backgrounds are important as well...as you can see all the photos used have dark backgrounds. That helps make the blending more seamless.

I like it the way it is, personally. Like many have suggested, there are other musicians who could and maybe should also be represented. But on something like this where only a select few get pictured, I don't think there is any way to make everyone happy. We could roll with it as is, or we could put it up to a vote from the members and let the majority rule. It would take awhile, but we could have a voting process to determine which bands/musicians should be represented.
I think I'm going to tinker with it a little bit, maybe make the image slightly wider and add Jon and Criss from Savatage since they seem to be a popular pic for inclusion (also because I know exactly which photo I want to use, if I can find it). Maybe then we can get a majority vote to go with what we've got.

Toss some pillows on da floor JD, you're about to tip over! If you look close you can see Criss trying to elbow his way in front of Tony Iommi like he's saying, "make way, mr. metal god, it's my turn".
I wish I could've found a full color photos of Randy and Ozzy. I've seen it before, but could only find the stylized version that appears on Tribute. That's the only thing that irks me about this image.
