Suggestion, though(I know, i know...ANOTHER one.) A thrash band member or two would be cool, to kinda represent all old school has to offer, y'know?

I certainly appreciate the kudos on my design, and they have been expressed in many different ways, but "holy fuck on a stick" takes top honors! Runner ups would be Wyvern bowing to me when I put Blackmore and Iommi on stage together and JD laying flat on his back on the floor.

As for the thrash representation, I actually considered putting Metallica in the graphic...but, well, you know. If I had more room Dave Mustaine might've garnered a spot. I really wanted to add Dimebag too, considering recent events. But again...space constraints. I was steering for pioneers since this is "old school" forum.

Hawk and I have agreed to submit the graphic to Deron as is, for now. I thought the whole voting process might've been fun, but fact is it would take forever and would inevitably fail to please everyone. If any of you want to design your own versions for consideration, you're still free to do so. My graphic isn't set in stone, and I'm sure Deron will swap it out if someone can make a more popular one.

I know a very very good graphic artist (a master of digital imaging) that used to hang around the Vanden Plas board. If I can find him, he might be willing to help us come up with something. Come to think of it, the guy might be interested in visiting this forum. I'll try and look him up. I am not too bad with digital imaging either. Here is a shot I took of Tad Morose: There wasn't much more to this than cropping and adding some text, but I do have the capability.

I like it, but I don't care for the block lettering. It also isn't very symmetrical especially on the lettering. Trust me when I say I do like it though. I wouldn't have replied at all if I didn't. It is simply constructive critique.

Hey TSO, since you seem to be quite good with Photoshop or PSP or whatever you use, I was thinking of borrowing the cover of Metal CHurch's debut or Accept's debut. I came up with something like this, but didn't have much time to work with it.

Hmmm..... I vote for yours over mine. I am too lazy to spend a lot of time on it. Please excuse my non-enthusiasm over your work. I do really like it, I just thought maybe a little more color and symmetry. Don't take my mild criticism harshly. You are quite talented, but I knew that before I even knew you could do graphic art.

im only a photoshop beginner so i wont even bother trying to come up with something... but for those with basic photoshop knowledge or more advanced users I thought this site might help and also give you some ideas for coming up with a background... for our forum or just for yourselves...
