Oh, certainly. Of course, there seemed to be quite a crossover between traditional heavy metal songwriting and power metal back then - obviously those of you born earlier than I was know more on this subject than I do!

if the topic was bands I listen to then yes there would be some non power metal bands but as power metal is my favourite genre, my favourite bands happen to come from there

I think a more appropriate question would be what's my favorite Rhapsody album, to be honest. this is because I don't really have a favorite song by them....but in that context, I like all of the songs on "Power of the Dragonflame", I don't have a particular favourite song though.

well the only ones that I know from your list are rhapsody blind guardian and sonata. but I don't know what to discuss about them at the moment, lol.

I like folk metal too.. And some American folk music, world music, and electronic. Most of my favorite bands are metal though.

I like all kinds of music. I'm a huge classical music fan, I love electronic stuff... I really like a bunch of songs from all different genres, I don't have any "guilty pleasures." I don't listen to certain genres much like rap and country and all that but there are still a couple songs in every genre that I like. Metal, like almost everyone here, though, is my genre of choice.

That is indeed wrong... 'folk music' is hard to define. Folk music like what she's talking about... think about Bob Dylan or Simon & Garfunkel, those types of musicians.

I think both definitions are right. One on hand you can call indigenous music "folk" but it's also the name of the American folk genre.
