Hey what are your favourite bands guys?

That is the only song by Maiden I actually can't stand anymore, due to it being played to death on commercial radio in this country. One of the major rock stations in Sweden - Bandit Rock - have a slogan where they claim to play "what we want", yet all they ever want to play from one of the best heavy metal bands that ever was is this song.

Wow, lol, this thread of mine got to over 200 replies now...:)

Anyway, anybody likes Slayer here? Seasons in the Abyss is my favourite album from them. :)

I was a big Slayer fanboy a few years back and still really like them now. Seen them live 3 times and always impressive.

Seasons in the Abyss is definitely one of their best (song and album) but I'd have to say Reign in Blood is my favourite album of theirs. If there's one album that's allowed to get away with almost sounding like one long song, it's Reign in Blood!

Aside from having Angel of Death (my favourite Slayer song) and Raining Blood on it, there's something really appealing about the non-stop Thrashing relentless-ness of it all. Also the production sounds amazing to my ears and way ahead of it's time.

I agree with you on Reign In Blood, it's a relatively short album and definitely makes it sound like one long song and with a good theme. Too bad that the fun ends after about 30 minutes!

Yeah, the production of almost all of their albums was by Rick Rubin which is possibly one of the best producers out there....he's a great dude. :)

Lol vividly! :) I rarely see that word being used these days.

Reign In Blood is definitely Slayer's most successful album...they had great timing with the release of it too in 1986, back then, it was considered a masterpiece and I bet it's still considered a masterpiece even today.

Haha don't get me started on Slayer solos! I'll give it to them they've done some good stuff (Reign and Seasons in particular) but for me they've always been very hit and miss

lol agree with the last 2 post. Slayer has some bad solos, but there's also some good ones.

@Shredlamode Hey Andy my friend who happens to listen to both PQ and DragonForce thought you were Herman Li because you and him have the same forum name, but his is on another guitar forum though.
