Hey what are your favourite bands guys?

60's, 70's and 80's pop, soul, disco I can certainly appreciate...plus the odd thing from the 90's like KLF. But to be honest I would struggle to even name any DJ's and I wouldn't know trance if it came up to me and said "Hello, I'm trance"! LOL!

lol!

But yhea, pretty much agree wtih all you said:)

I don't think many people can appreciate trance until they go to a rave or some kind of night club where it's played really loudly over some amazing equipment. Or you're on LSD or ecstasy. But that's a whole other story...

I've never went to a night club where it was "played really loudly" and I still got to appreciate it. :)

But of course I don't expect to see many people appreciating Trance in a Metal forum.

I never knew that there was Trance Metal lol!

Thanks :)

They use the instruments typical in Trance and combining it with electric guitars right?

Yeah. The only two Trance Metal bands I know of are the ones posted above, but they tend to mix very heavy metal and combine it with a trance-y melody or synth / background tune.
Take a listen to those, I imagine it's quite an aquired taste.

That's actually more along the style I like. Especially this one...

Well, these Trance Metal songs are certainly interesting! Thought a couple of them sounded not too bad actually.

Think Enter Shikari are considered Trance Metal or from what I remember hearing from them that's certainly what I thought them to be, but in that case I wasn't impressed.

Interestingly, I used to work with a guy in his late 40's who was into various Hard Rock and Metal for years, he grew up with the likes of UFO, Van Halen, Black Sabbath etc and according to what he told me and the various CD's he would put on in his car, his tastes seem to become more varied as he got older, although he still kept a deep love for old school Hard Rock and Metal. He pretty much liked a lot of bands/artists from nearly all genres, with a definite exception being Hip Hop and Rap and tended to like what bands I would bring to his attention at the time, such as Dragonforce, Testament, Firewind and some others.

Yo Kingface, you should tell us your favourites. Like, the way I did it last time, with the first being the most favourite, the second less, and so on. Come on. :)

Here's my new favourites anyway, you can tell how often I change my opinion on favourites...hehe. I'm that kind of person who can't easily decide and settle on things :p

1. Metallica
2. Guns and Roses(not 100% sure if a favourite yet, but quite likely)
3. Power Quest
4. Slipknot
5. Infected Mushroom
6. Symphony X
7. Stone Sour
8. Disturbed
9. that band with the slut on vocals....I forgot the name though sorry.

Yeah definitely. It's just that, I have way too much music in my hands now that I don't really want to have any more.

Heard The Final Frontier before though. Kicks ass :)

I like Maiden up through the Seventh Son years, don't like anything from the Blaze era except Sign of the Cross, and post-reunion Maiden is pretty meh for me except for a few songs. Their first three albums are my favorite - I know that's a pretty odd opinion with the original vocalist and all, but I love those songs! Prodigal Son has a vibe to it that no other Maiden song has, in my opinion..

Well although I used to be particular about having favourite bands and putting them in order, I like too many bands to do that anymore! But here's a selection of my favourites in no particular order:

Dragonforce
Power Quest
Metallica
Slayer
Megadeth
Anthrax
Judas Priest
Blind Guardian
Testament
Annihilator
Death
Cannibal Corpse
Edguy
Obituary
Napalm Death
Gama Bomb
Sepultura
Alestorm
Dream Evil
Sabaton
Warbringer
Emperor

Wait what?! @ "the band with the slut on vocals" :guh: That's.. quite an insult!
