Hey what are your favourite bands guys?

I understand what you mean yeah the lyrics were definitely different....not even dealingwith fantasi anymore like their first 2 albums

but i love them because of the cool aggressive-powermetal....and they also call their genre extreme power metal which is kinda true. they're really extreme

This. Dragonforce was a great band up until they began touring for Sonic Firestorm. Now they are a bunch of washed up musicians that border on sell outs. I met them once after a show on their Ultra Beatdown tour and the fame has gotten to them, Herman was a grade-A asshole and told me to get out of the backstage area, I was talking with a different band at the time and only nodded in their direction so that pissed me off. Sam wasn't really drunk but he was buzzing for sure, he gave me his autograph though and said it was just a bad night, Vadim did the same, I never saw ZP. I used to like them but now their music is subpar, still better then a lot of bands but nothing special.
 
Yea, I'm going to avoid bashing the band any more than I already have since there are obviously fans here and that's not what this thread is about, but they definitely have to impress me this year with whatever they come out with if I'm going to go see them again :D
 
Yeah man if you don't like them then you don't like them, for whatever reaon you may have....but they will always have many fans. like every other band.

I got to know Power Quest through DragonForce by the way.....from Wikipedia to be precise
 
If I had a penny for every 'omfg DF are so xtreme!' or 'DF aren't as good as they used to be' comments I would be rich enough to hire a solid gold wheelbarrow for Herman to lug his ego around in ;)

I have to say, I couldn't listen to Ultra Meatclown. Too much chaos and not enough music for me. Though I still like the band and will see them when opportunity arises. The first 2 albums are not to be forgotten.
 
Now that I think about it, DragonForce is actually pretty bad....man. All that chaos and ZP's vocals just doesn't go right to me now....there's no nice way to say this but DragonForce is a pretty idiotic band

I'm deleting them from my music....thanks for the conviction guys
 
That was a surprisingly swift change of opinion... it's not that DF is 'bad,' they've just become very stale due to their refusal to try something drastically new. Their first two albums are absolute quality.
 
No man they suck from the beginning until the end. Just that relentless chaos in their music makes me sick.

That was the most rash and knee-jerk change of heart I've seen! I wouldn't be so easily swayed by people on the internet my young friend. Or other people's opinions for that matter.
 
Well I was already thinking to get rid of DragonForce but their words have made it stronger. Obviously it's just people's opinions but I tend to listen to what people say if I find it true.

I was also semi-kidding :)
 
Symphonic life, i don't really understand why u changed ur mind cause they said what they felt...i'll always love DF, maybe wont listen 2 them as much now that ZP left...he and Chity are 2 best singers out there so i'll w8 b4 i judge...felt same thing about PQ when old members left, but that turned out great!

btw u said u had been thinking of "getting rid" of DF and theese guys made up ur mind?(if i understood right)...even if they made u change ur mind about the band, wouldn't u still like the old songs which u said u liked b4? even if u don't like the band? just wondering...

They weren't the only reason that I got rid of DF, I was also thinking to do it myself BEFORE they told me anything.

I prefer to have some more reasonable music than DF's music which while is pretty impressive in terms of performance but can make you really sick of it sometimes.

There was some rumor(before the announcement of Chity as vocalist) that ZP is PQ's new singer....kind of funny when I think about it now. ZP has a good voice but he has no real energy I think.

The first Sonata album I got was Winterheart's Guild. I was so blown away that it was the only Sonata album I listened to for about six months. I finally decided to check out their two other albums (at that point, they hadn't even announced Reckoning Night yet, I don't think) but to this day it remains one of my favorite albums of all time. Some incredible ballads on there, and Gravenimage has to be one of Sonata's best works, musically and lyrically.

Sonata is one of my all-time favorite bands, I really don't think they can do any wrong (except their My Land and Wolf & Raven remakes).
