Holy Shit Old Sepultura fucking rules

I'm in even more of a minority... I like Soulfly... hehehe... I love Sepultura's early stuff (Schizophrenia kills), and I still liked them up to and including Roots... but I like Soulfly too. Yeah, it's simplistic, and having Fred Durst sing 'Bleed' with Max on the debut album was something of a stylistic own-goal, but the riffs are heavy enough and their-stripped down simplicity suits the tribal rhythms... I'll just wait for the stones to start flying at my head now, though...

NP : Paradise Lost - Rapture.

You're not the only one. I like some Soulfly songs a lot but they can get pretty boring and repetitive. Soulfly is an extension from the Roots album. Soulfly can't TOUCH the stuff that Sepultura used to do. Sepultura's my favourite band of all time so I pretty much love all their albums but their ealier songs especially. I don't know WTF is everyone's problem with Sepultura's albums like Chaos A.D and Roots. Sure, it's not speedy and thrashy as their ealier albums but the vocals got a lot better in my opinion. And man, Arise and Beneathe The Remains will always remain as Thrash Metal classics.

I got into Sepultura shortly after Arise was released and it is still one of the best CDs I own. Chaos A.D. is a masterpiece, an awesome disc for many different reasons than Arise was. Roots is a bit lengthy, but like so much of the FIRST of the Nu-metal (old Korn, Snot, etc.), was very good, something different, something fresh, but what it created... :Puke:

As far as post-Roots... Sepultura needs Max and Max needs Sepultura. That first Soulfly discs is probably my most disappointing CD I have ever purchased. I tried many many times to get into it, alas, it never happened.

The riffs have sucked during and after Arise. 'nuff said.

You know, sarcasm is cool when done correctly but you're going totally overboard.

Sorry, but I had to do that, you quoted me and then made a comment unrelated to my point(s).
