My own personal reasons:
1.) I didn't like the name motW anymore. We came up with it when we were 17.
2.) I really like the new name.
3.) Same stuff Greg said, basically, identity change.
3b.) Wanted to escape the associations we would have kept with the name motW, for example, our old label, certain aspects of the scene, etc.
4.) Our band's lineup was decimated over the past year, so it's not the same project at all. Especially in the case that Jason Byron, a co-founder of motW, didn't want to perform on the new album - we found that motW actually had been in the process of breaking up for a while.
5) There are other more complicated reasons, but these are the easily mentionable ones.
