What the hell is supposed to represent?
On the release on the site, it said that MOTW no longer fits the intentions of the band. Fair enough, but what are these new intentions and why do you guys think that Kayo Dot is a better name?

My own personal reasons:
1.) I didn't like the name motW anymore. We came up with it when we were 17.
2.) I really like the new name.
3.) Same stuff Greg said, basically, identity change.
3b.) Wanted to escape the associations we would have kept with the name motW, for example, our old label, certain aspects of the scene, etc.
4.) Our band's lineup was decimated over the past year, so it's not the same project at all. Especially in the case that Jason Byron, a co-founder of motW, didn't want to perform on the new album - we found that motW actually had been in the process of breaking up for a while.
5) There are other more complicated reasons, but these are the easily mentionable ones.

i have to say that what i've seen of byron's lyrics for the upcoming album are tremendous, though.

Fair enough. I can see why you'd be tired of it if you came up with when you were 17. 
One more thing though, what IS a Kayo Dot? Can we get some details surrounding the new name?

Oh yeah, and can you tell us why Byron didn't want to perform on the new album? His vocals sort of grew on me.

you guys got to do what you got to do, but i think the change is a bad one, and no amount of posting psych graphs is going to convince me otherwise. somethings simply suck, and there are no two ways about it. but, again, you guys have your reasons and i, of course, willl be the first one on line to buy the next album. hehe. good luck, dudes.

About Byron, to put it very simply he doesn't consider himself a musician or a performer and wanted to dedicate his time to other things.
you guys totally need to kidnap him and lock him up in the studio till he gives out some of them vocals!

i can totally understand people being freaked by the new name, as was i when the decision was made but it makes sense to me and like xtokalon was saying, even if you are not fond of the change i assure you that the music on the cd will more than live up to the expectations and i hope you will still get it.
